Schedule
Traveling
with your private group, your day begins with collection from
your city hotel at 0900 and a drive over the picturesque West
Gate Bridge to the western highway. Our morning of gold digging
begins as we make our way to Ballarat, the home of Gold in
Victoria.
Sovereign
Hill will be our first stop of the day. In this re-created gold
mining town you can try your luck while panning for gold, go
down in to an old mine, travel in a Cobb & Co coach or just
enjoy the atmosphere of the Main Street.
After lunch we continue to discover some of the
majestic architecture that is so typical in this historic town.
Some of the country’s most intact 19th Century streetscapes are
found in Lydiard and Sturt Streets and we have a look at Lake
Wendouree, home of the rowing competition in the Melbourne
Olympic Games, beside the Ballarat Botanical Gardens.
Our next
stop will be the award-winning Ballarat Wildlife Park with a
rich collection of Australian wildlife. There are plenty of
photo opportunities while experiencing close encounters with
Koalas, Kangaroos, Crocodiles, Emus, Tasmanian devils and more.
The day
concludes with a return trip to your hotel by 1730.
